  • Cleaning reduces stress
  • Counts as a workout
  • You’ll sleep better with an organized clean room
  • A clean area will help you breathe better
  • Organization sharpens your concentration
  • De-cluttering helps you do a good deed by donating items you no longer want

Eager to start? The secret of a happy-spring-cleaning-day is to make it in a certain ORGANIZED order, so you spend just the right time on it. Planning ahead the day is essential for it to be successful. You’re lucky that our mission is to empower your life with wellness; so, we will share our secret with you.

Collect the right cleaning supplies

The day before the clean you need to make sure you have a bucket full of EVERYTHING you will possibly need this will help you save time looking for stuff as you clean. Remember to wash the broom before, replace the vacuum bag, clean the dust cup, and replace or wash the filters. Snip threads snarled in the brush with scissors or a seam ripper.

Wondering what the bucket should have?

  • Your favorite cleaning products like: all purpose and toilet bowl cleaners (or make your own baking soda, vinegar and water solution)
  • Hand brush (preferably with extension rod)
  • Scrub sponge
  • Baking Soda
  • White vinegar
  • A cleaning brush
  • A cleaning cloth
  • Cotton Swabs
  • Trash bags
  • Lint roller
  • Rubber gloves
  • Two buckets: one for your cleaning solution and another for wringing your sponge

EXTRA TIP! Make playlist with your favorite upbeat music to keep you motivated

Plan a menu

Yes! You should plan your meals for the day so that the day flows without as many interruptions as possible. Start with a complete healthy breakfast; keep a few snacks on hand so you don’t have to break off your cleaning marathon. Reward yourself after a tiring day of cleaning picking up dinner from your favorite takeout spot.

Time it!

Decide how long you want to spend in each room, then set a timer so you don't lose track of the time. You don’t want to spend most of the day in one room, and oh it can happen. Take it as a fun challenge.

Get the Laundry Done While you clean the rest

Fabrics that have absorbed a winter’s worth of dirt, body oil, and germs will need a deep cleaning to get them ready for another year of wear. Jump-start your spring cleaning by going from room to room, gathering anything that can go in the laundry: curtains, shower curtains, bedding, bath mats, rugs, slipcovers, throw pillows, will get washed as you keep cleaning other things.

Spring Cleaning is not done without de-cluttering!

Toss unused items: magazines, catalogs, books, coffee mugs that only collect dust, surplus hangers anything that you haven’t used the last year so you can make space for a new season. The Japanese tidier expert Marie Kondo has a great method to help you de-clutter your house and keep it in order, mastering these 2 skills:

  • Keeping the items that brings you joy and discarding the rest donating, selling or tossing them.
  • Keeping each item in a particular place and to always put it back.

This KonMarie Method assures if you follow through the instructions, you will get rid of your clutter once and for all. Here we list a few of her important remarks in order to achieve it:

  • Tidy all at once. She says that tidying a bit at a time never works, because it will get messy again quickly.
  • Determine if each item “sparks joy.” Take each item in your hand and ask yourself “does this spark joy?” If yes, then it stays. If not, then throw it out.
  • Tidy by category, not location. In most households, items that fall into the same category are stored in multiple places, be sure to look for them to make decisions.
  • Tidy in the right order. Starting with clothes, books, papers, and miscellaneous.
  • Discard before you place things back. You look at all the items of one category take each one in your hand and take aside what you discard and what not to another side. Don’t put anything away until everything you are going to discard is removed.
